Who can resist those? (Part 1)
I'm not often going out to enjoying those sweet treat of delicious cakes or patisserie out there in Sydney. However, I do stepped out once a while whenever I need to be relaxed and happy.

I love cupcake. I never heard anything about cupcake before and trust me, it was not so popular like these days now. 5 years ago it was unheard or just simply plain small cake (a muffin size) with cream topped and sometime topped with coloured sprinkles.

Nowadays, the cupcake golden moment come back again!
The cupcakes are everywhere from a small cupcake specialist shop (that only sell cupcakes), picnic, birthday parties, baby shower, corporate event and to wedding receptions!
Remember my pictures of Mirvac cupcake? These are for corporate event.
Remember a picture from Sebel Manly function room overlooking the beach? There are strawberry cupcakes tiered on a display cake in the picture, these are for wedding event.

Here are some small cupcakes that I bought from "Cupcake on Pitt" shop (these cupcakes are with different cake flavours and different topping flavours:

Aren't those irresistible?

Then, one day I went to Lindt's Cafe in Martin Place. It's the first Lindt's Cafe. The first Lindt's Cafe was not established in Belgium nor Germany (where my brother was working in Lindt's chocolate factory), but here in Australia.

I tried Opera Cake, one of classic cake which is best described in their menu as:

This luxurious cake is made from thin layers of dark chocolate ganache, coffee butter cream and almond sponge that has been soaked in coffee syrup. The dark chocolate topping is adorned with a 24 carat gold leaf.

Yes, I did eat that edible 24 carat gold leaf!!!
(the gold leaf is on the upper left side of the cake, not sure if it's 24 carat, at least it didn't choked on me)

Look at these layers and the super-rich chocolate layers and ganache

Hmm... I prefer some more cupcakes rather than Lindt's cake. Most of Lindt's cakes are too rich and dense, while cupcakes feel light, variable and look so cute. I can eat more than one small cupcake and not feeling guilty over eating something too much. Even my workmates can not resist those cute cupcakes when I offered to some of them.

Those cupcakes look lovely, which flavour did you like the best? I've only tried on from Cupcakes on Pitt-I think it was the double chocolate one with a rum ball on top.

NQN: I like Sundae cupcake 'cos it has a lots on the top. The milk chocolate is good one too, rich with cream and marrachino cherry. I did sliced these and share with my friends. All of them said it's good and asked me how do I know all these good bakeries and dessert place.
Actually your blog is one of my source. I will take them to Adriano Zumbo one day and surprise them *wink*

Excellent, I must try more from there. I think I always just end up making them myself so never actually buy them but I do enjoy a cupcake.

Hehe that's great, blogs are great places to get ideas on where to go!
